We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that donated items and gas cards for the Ronald McDonald House. There will be more opportunities to pay it forward if you weren't able to participate at conference.

We will continue to provide ICD-10 at each Local Chapter meeting starting in December. If you did not get to attend conference, we still have a few sets of books left. If you would like a set, just use the "Contact" link above.

CMS ICD-10 Resources

Be prepared for October 1st, 2013

Here you will find resources and timelines to help providers, payers, and vendors prepare for the U.S. health care industry's transitions to 5010 and ICD-10

These two transitions will require system and business changes throughout the health care industry. ICD-10 will affect coding for everyone covered by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), not just those who submit Medicare claims.

We are the Kansas City Chapter of The Academy (The American Academy of Professional Coders). The AAPC of Kansas City local chapter exists to help accomplish the purpose and mission of the AAPC national organization.

The AAPC of KC is committed to the education, recognition and certification of professional coders. We endeavor to provide our members with informative speakers that support, educate and allow networking opportunites for the coding community. The speakers are independent and do not represent the AAPC of KC, or its board. Clinical, coding, legal, and other comments are general only: professional counsel should be sought for specific situations. Meeting time, date, location and speakers are subject to change.

Mentor Program

Do you need a Mentor, or would you like to become a Mentor? The AAPC of KC has a program to pair up members that need a little guidance and support with members who have a wealth of knowledge to share.

This program was developed to help our new and newly credentialed members with the support that is needed in our chosen career field. Rena Hall, New Member Development Officer, can answer any questions you may have about this program.
